What is Halotherapy?

Halotherapy, also known as dry salt therapy, is considered an alternative natural treatment for respiratory and skin conditions. Salt is known for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. As you breathe, the salt travels deep into the respiratory system, helping to cleanse airways, reduce inflammation, loosen mucus, and allows you to breathe again without complications.

How does it work?

At Breathe Salt Therapy we provide active Halotherapy sessions, with a machine called a Halo Generator. A Halo Generator uses medical grade sodium chloride (salt), crushes it into micro-sized particles and disperses it into the air. Breathing in these tiny particles provides respiratory benefits by:

  • Reducing inflammation in the airways

  • Absorbing and reducing bacteria from the salts antibacterial properties

  • Promotes adequate airflow by breaking up mucus

  • Absorbs irritants and allergens in the airways

  • Relieves discomforts such as headaches, facial tension, and runny nose

Halotherapy is beneficial for respiratory conditions such as:

  • Common cold, cough, and flu

  • Pneumonia

  • Bronchitis

  • Sinus infections / sinusitis

  • Asthma

  • Respiratory allergies

  • Lung infections

  • Cystic fibrosis

  • COPD and emphysema

  • Smoking related breathing problems

  • Ear infections

  • Snoring and sleeping problems

Halotherapy can also be used to alleviate breathing problems caused by COVID-19, improving your breathing and the amount of oxygen in your blood. (According to WebMD)

Halotherapy is beneficial for skin conditions such as:

  • Eczema

  • Psoriasis

  • Dermatitis
