What is Float Therapy?

Floatation Therapy is a deeply relaxing experience where you float effortlessly in a private pod filled with warm water and magnesium. The high salt concentrate allows you to float weightlessly, helping you unwind both physically and mentally.

The float pod contains a solution of water and 1,600 pounds of magnesium, allowing you to float effortlessly. The water is heated to skin temperature, creating an environment where you feel weightless, and free from external distractions like light, sound, and gravity.

What to expect

Upon arrival, we’ll walk you through your float session and answer any questions you may have. During your 60 minute Floatation Therapy session, after a quick rinse, you’ll step into your float pod. You may choose to float with soft light and provide your own music, or immerse yourself in total silence and darkness for a full sensory free experience.

Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, towels, ear plugs, vitamin ointment, and a blow dryer are provided.

What are the benefits?

Floating reduces external stimuli giving your body a chance to relax and restore. Floating is utilized for many reasons including, but not limited to:

  • Arthritis, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis

  • Chronic aches and pains in muscles and joints

  • Stress, anxiety, depression, postnatal depression

  • Improves sleep, insomnia, exhaustion

  • Helps break addiction and bad habits

  • Relieves headache and migraine tension

  • Reduces high blood pressure

  • Improves circulation and detoxification

  • Encourages meditation and deep relaxation

How to prepare:
  • Avoid caffeine and large meals before your session. Caffeine can make it harder to relax, and a heavy meal might leave you feeling uncomfortable.

  • Do not shave or wax at least 24 hours prior to your session, as the salt will irritate your skin.

  • Although rare, it’s extremely important to stay hydrated before and after your float session to prevent any symptoms such as dizziness or nausea.

What do I wear?
We recommend floating without clothing (naked) to fully experience the benefits and eliminate any distractions from fabric or elastic. Our float room is completely private, so you can feel comfortable and at ease. If you prefer, you’re welcome to wear a swimsuit, just keep in mind that any clothing may affect your sense of weightlessness.

Additionally, one of the easiest ways to set yourself up for relaxation, both before and after your session is by wearing comfortable, loose fitting clothing— making it easier to take off and put back on after your session.

After feeling so effortlessly free while floating, it’s hard to not feel restricted in tighter clothing, wear a baggy shirt, sweatpants, or lounge wear can ease your mind of the stress from buttons, clasps, or zippers.
Can I drown if I fall asleep?
No, some people do fall asleep while floating, but the buoyancy of the water will keep you afloat.
What if I’m claustrophobic?
Our float room is designed for a comfortable and relaxing experience, our float pod is open to the room (think big bathtub), with the option of keeping the lights on.
How often should I float?
You can float as often as you would like! For best results, we recommend regular sessions 1-2 times a week.

Regular float sessions are shown to lower cortisol levels (a stress response hormone) allowing you to take the break that we all deserve.
I’m nervous about my first float, is this normal?
Absolutely! It’s common to feel a little unsure before your first session. Like any wellness practice, such as yoga or going to the gym, your mind and body often need time to adjust. That’s why we recommend our Intro to Float package, which includes three 60-minute float sessions to be completed within 30 days. This approach allows you to grow comfortable in the tank, build on each experience, and fully enjoy the many benefits Float Therapy has to offer.
